How to Download the WasteBolt App
WasteBolt is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — there's nothing to download from an app store. You install it directly from your browser in under a minute, on any device.
What is a PWA?
A Progressive Web App installs from your browser onto your device like a native app — its own icon, standalone window, offline capability — but without needing the App Store or Google Play. It's always up to date and takes up very little storage.
Follow these steps to install WasteBolt on your Android phone or tablet using Google Chrome.
Open Chrome on your Android device
WasteBolt works best with Google Chrome or Samsung Internet. Make sure you have an up-to-date version installed.
Navigate to wastebolt.app
Type wastebolt.app into the address bar and load the page. You may see an automatic install banner appear at the bottom — if so, tap it to install directly.
Open the Chrome menu (⋮)
Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of Chrome to open the browser menu.
Chrome menu (⋮):
Tap "Add to Home screen"
Scroll through the menu and tap "Add to Home screen". This triggers the installation prompt.
Tap "Install" to confirm
A popup will appear asking you to confirm. Tap "Install" and WasteBolt will be added to your home screen as a full app icon.
Add WasteBolt to Home screen
wastebolt.app
You're all set!
WasteBolt is now installed on your device. Open it from your home screen or desktop like any other app. You'll always have the latest version automatically.
Troubleshooting
I can't see the "Add to Home Screen" or install option.
Try refreshing the page and waiting a few seconds. The option may also be hidden in the browser menu under "More tools" or "Install app".
The app icon doesn't appear on my home screen.
Scroll through all pages of your home screen — the icon is usually added to the last page. On Android, you may also find it in your app drawer.
Do I need to be logged in to install the app?
No — you can install WasteBolt first and then log in. Your session will be remembered between app opens.
Will I need to reinstall after updates?
No. As a PWA, WasteBolt updates automatically in the background. You always have the latest version without doing anything.
